A V. Suraweera (1980 - 2014)

He was born on October 12, 1930, in korasa village, Gampaha. V. Suraweera graduated with a Master of Arts and PhD from the Village School, Gampaha Government English School, Royal College, Colombo and the University of Peradeniya.

He began his career as a teacher and later became an assistant lecturer and professor at the University of Science. Directed by the University of Iowa, USA. He was also the first Sri Lankan to complete a full course in literary creation.

The first book to be published by Magina was the book 'Criticism', published in 1957 as a literary review book. Apart from this, he nurtured the art of criticism in 1969, Sinhala Literary Tradition, Novel - Creation and Understanding in 1973, Social Studies in 1981, 'Creative Background' in 1987, Tradition and Creation in Ue9 Literary Criticism in 1995 250 Written in 2011 ) - Composed of the new Alothura Khan.
