puujawaliya

The book 'Poojavaliya' was compiled by Maha Thera Pada, the son of the Buddha, under the name of Mayura Pada Parivenadhipathi, one of the great sons of the Buddha, who lived among the great scholars of the Dambadeniya period. The Kingdom of Ceylon during the Dambadeniya period, which is associated with the history of Sinhala literature, was ruled by King Parakramabahu II, a scholar of Kalikala literature. The name Vijapada was bestowed on him because of his great erudition associated with his education.

Without the patronage of this king, it cannot be said that all the scholars who lived in the Dambadeniya period did not receive patronage. It is possible to change that because of the great (very valuable) service he rendered to the field of Sinhala literature and the field of Buddhist literature. He is one of the two most distinguished authors of books in this period, refining Sinhala literature. The author of the Poojavali is the Bhootha Mayurapada scholar and the other scholar is Dharmasena Swamy Padayana, the author of the book Saddharma Ratnavali.

The name Buddha Puthara means the son of Buddha. Meaning the son of the Buddha. All the monks associated with the Buddha Sasana are sons of the Buddha. In this case, the name Buddha Putra is a non-common personal name used to describe a person or a monk. It is also appropriate to mean the disciple of the Buddha.

Mayurapada Parivenadhipati Buddha Puthara wanted to compile a book praising the merits of the Supreme Buddha. (To write a book. This book mentions the virtues of the Buddha more than the Buddha Dhamma. The balance of the merits (the beam of merit) is to glorify His sacrifice in the book.

The Buddha's son-in-law based his book on the virtues of the Arahants. On the theme of that Buddha virtue. That is to say, based on this book written by him, from the time of Sumedha the ascetic at the base of Deepankara Pada, enlightenment and attaining Pirinivan (Pirinivan Pama means the death or death of the Supreme Buddha) during this period, praising the new Arahant Buddha quality associated with the Buddha. Sacrifice is included in the book.

Poojavaliya is not a single pooja but a series of poojas. Pooja Avali Pooja is Pooja. I bow. Avail is the vine. It is a ritual to attach such a large number of vines. That Poojavaliya contains (includes) the infinite Buddha Guna which is based on the Arahant Buddha Guna. It is the immeasurable quality of the Buddha.

The Buddhahood of a Buddha is infinite. Innumerable, that innumerable Buddha virtue is mentioned in the Buddhist textbook as follows.

Does a Buddha praise the qualities of a Buddha? When a whole Kalpa praises the merits of the Buddha in this manner, the praise of the merits of the Buddha cannot be completed unless the time called Kalpa passes. If so, this shows that the beam of virtues possessed by a Buddha is infinitely infinite.
